A Shining Example of Education at Work
“Bridge to a Life of Literacy,” regarding the Puente Learning Center (Dec. 10), describes what can be accomplished in a properly run school where the teachers are dedicated and the students motivated.
As a school where the tuition is free and all applicants accepted, it is a shining example of what a public school can be. And I’ll bet that the cost per student is appreciably less than in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Why can’t our regular public schools be like that?
