South Bay : IN MEMORY OF
Manhattan Beach police honored the 17 California police officers slain in the line of duty during 1995 with a candlelight vigil Wednesday on the second anniversary of the murder of Manhattan Beach Police Officer Martin Ganz.
The vigil was held near the Manhattan Village Shopping Center, where Ganz was shot and killed after pulling over Roger Hoan Brady during a routine traffic stop in 1993. Brady was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison earlier this month in an unrelated Oregon case. He may face the death penalty if he is convicted in the trial for Ganz’ murder. It is scheduled to begin early in 1996.
