Peacekeeping in Bosnia
Concerning our country’s determination to help ease the suffering and bloodshed in the former Yugoslavia, I rise to applaud our president and any effort of the United States to help bring an end to gunfire, at the very least temporarily.
Of course there is risk, of course there is danger; only in fictional stories do these things get trivialized into nonexistence. We will most probably suffer some unpleasant consequences from this peacekeeping mission before it is over for us. But I hasten to remind all opponents of the mission that for evil to persist it is only necessary for good people to stand by and do nothing.
