5 Insurers to Make Prop. 103 Rebates: Five more insurance companies agreed to rebate a total of $6.6 million to their customers under Proposition 103, the 1988 insurance reform initiative, state Insurance Commissioner Chuck Quackenbush said. The companies are American Road Group, which will pay $5 million; Workmen’s Group, $485,280; Oregon Mutual Group, $464,435; Grange Insurance Group, $388,999; and First American Cos., $284,479. Another 37 insurers, including giant State Farm Mutual Auto Insurance Co., have yet to settle their rebate cases. Hearings for the remaining cases will begin in January.
