Tenneco Agrees to Sell Stake in Pipeline: The Houston-based firm said it has agreed to sell its 50% interest in the Kern River natural gas pipeline system to Williams Cos. for $205 million. Tenneco Energy and Tulsa, Okla.-based Williams were partners in the Wyoming-to-California line. The binding agreement was executed Sunday. The sale, which is subject to approval by the Federal Trade Commission, is expected to close early this year. Tenneco Energy said the timing allows the company to retain about $10 million of net operating income accrued since September when it announced the sale of its share to a subsidiary of Questar Corp. of Salt Lake City. Last week, Tenneco Energy and Questar agreed to terminate the transaction after the FTC voted against the sale.
