Cellular Antenna Tower Approved
A new 100-foot cellular communications tower will soon rise over Easy Street.
The Simi Valley Planning Commission Wednesday approved a proposal by Los Angeles-based Nextel Communications to build the tower--for cellular and dispatch communications as well as paging services--in an industrial area west of 1st Street.
The antenna tower will be constructed inside a recreational vehicle storage lot that now exists on the property at the corner of Easy Street and Agate Court.
As proposed, the tower would consist of a single 87-foot-high steel pole topped by 21 antennas.
A small storage shelter for radio equipment would be built next to the tower and surrounded with a chain-link fence.
