David Franklin Greenawalt II; Dairy Executive

David Franklin Greenawalt II, 62, dairy company executive who was president of Los Angeles-based Knudsen Corp. A native of Philadelphia, Greenawalt earned an economics degree at the Wharton School of Business. He served as a captain in the Marines and then joined the dairy industry, rising to executive vice president and chief operating officer of Dairylea Cooperative. He moved to Knudsen in 1979 as senior vice president and was named president and chief operating officer in 1982. When Knudsen faltered financially in 1986, Greenawalt resigned after working for a time without pay. Greenawalt then became president of Santee Dairies, where he remained until his retirement in 1992. A civic and charitable leader, Greenawalt was active in the Knights of Columbus and the St. Bede Church in La Canada Flintridge. On Sunday in Pasadena of cardiac arrest.
