CSUN Will Offer Televised Courses
Ventura County residents interested in taking certain courses at Cal State Northridge that are only offered at CSUN’s Los Angeles County campus can now enroll in classes broadcast via television.
The courses, which include electrical and mechanical engineering and several classes needed for teaching and business certificates, will be broadcast to television monitors at the Center for Advanced Technical Education in Newbury Park and participating high schools in the Oxnard Union High School District. Telephone access allows students to call the professor during the televised classes to ask questions.
CSUN, which has a satellite campus in Ventura, started offering television access to its classes in 1988 as a way of reaching students in areas far from the campus.
For fee and schedule information, call the Continuing Education Television Network at (800) 882-0128.
