From Times Staff and Wire Reports

U.S. intelligence agencies will begin watching a mine in northwest Bosnia-Herzegovina where U.S. newspapers reported that Serbs may be trying to hide bodies exhumed from mass graves, the Defense Department said. The newspapers quoted non-Serbs at Ljubija as saying that Serbs had exhumed bodies from mass graves in the area and taken them to the nearby mine. A U.S. spokesman warned Serbs and other factions that they cannot escape war crimes prosecution by trying to destroy mass grave sites.
