Remembering Dean Martin

Share

Dean Martin was a kind, sweet man. I had the pleasure of working with him for 15 years. I was one of the Golddiggers, “his girls,” as he liked to call us, his family on the road. He watched as we grew from teenagers to women with our own children. He held our babies, called and sent flowers when we were sick and sincerely cared about our happiness and well-being. We lifted his spirits and “gave him a reason to perform” after Dean Paul died. We watched him go through divorce, rekindle his friendship with Jerry Lewis (they left messages in lipstick to each other on the dressing room mirror) and his falling out with Frank Sinatra while on tour.

So, this letter is my way of saying goodbye to a wonderful time and a wonderful man. I, and the rest of “his girls,” will miss him.
