Ringing in the New Year With Gang Victims

Three and a half pages devoted to the dead victims of gang violence on the very weekend Los Angeles is host to thousands of holiday visitors? (“Where You From?,” Dec. 31). Perhaps you mean to discourage more from moving here!

Yes, it’s a problem and it’s been a problem, but why the emphasis now? What do you expect this to stimulate? That we should all buy guns to defend ourselves? That we should insist on more police? That we should stay inside?

Who in their right mind would want to live here?
