Mine Injures Six Swedes in Bosnia
Six Swedish soldiers serving with the NATO-led peacekeeping operation in Bosnia were injured Sunday afternoon when their armored personnel carrier hit a land mine, officials said.
The incident occurred nine miles east of Maglaj in the zone of separation between Bosnian government and Serb forces, said a spokesman for the Swedish battalion in Tuzla. The injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Sunday’s accident brings to 13 the number of NATO soldiers injured in the peace mission, which began Dec. 20.
