Television: NBC announced Monday that it is launching a television network in Asia. When complete, NBC in Asia will be a 24-hour English-language cable service offering global and Asian news, documentaries, drama, music, sports and children’s programming for the Pan-Asian region. A limited version made its debut Monday, the network said. An expanded schedule is planned for mid-April. The goal, according to NBC Cable President Tom Rogers, is to provide “programming that features the best of NBC’s U.S. and European products combined with relevant local programming acquired and produced by NBC Asia.”
