PTA Council Seminar to Focus on AIDS
AIDS and the virus that causes it will be the topic of a seminar for parents, teachers and the community at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The seminar, sponsored by the Simi Valley PTA Council, is free and open to the public.
The topic was chosen based on a questionnaire asking parents which topics they most wanted to learn about.
“We need statistics on how HIV is transmitted and how many people have it,” said Sandy Barnett, second vice president of the Simi Valley PTA Council, which oversees the individual associations at each school.
The seminar is the second in a series offered by the council and will be held in the multipurpose room at Sequoia Junior High School, 3570 Cochran St.
