Share

The North Valley Occupational Center / Pacoima Skills Center will hold open registration beginning Jan. 30 for its spring semester.

The occupational center, located at 11450 Sharp Ave. in Mission Hills, is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District’s adult and occupational education program. The school trains adults and some minors for careers in which San Fernando Valley employers have reported a shortage of qualified personnel.

The center offers day, evening and Saturday classes in more than 50 different short-term, low-cost vocational programs ranging from business, computer, health and child care, aviation and automotive trades.

The school’s spring semester begins Feb. 12 and ends June 26. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, but school officials said students may enroll in classes at any time during the semester, as long as space is available.

The Pacoima Skills Center, located at 13545-B Van Nuys Blvd. in Pacoima, offers additional courses in electronics, VCR repair and cable television installation.
