Motorola Drops Out of Bidding for Sprint Contract: Sprint Corp. and its partners are asking equipment makers to help finance the construction of its Sprint Telecommunications Venture network for personal communications services, analysts said. The venture includes Tele-Communications Inc., Comcast Corp. and Cox Communications Inc. The contract to provide wireless equipment is estimated to be worth $3 billion. Schaumburg, Ill.-based Motorola Inc. said it ended negotiations because it was unable to reach acceptable financial and commercial contract terms. AT&T; Corp. and Northern Telecom Ltd. are expected to win the contract.
