Wyle Electronics Adds VP Post to James Smith’s Responsibilities

* James Smith has been named an executive vice president of Wyle Electronics, an Irvine electronics distributor. He will continue as president of Liberty Contract Services, a Wyle services and manufacturing support unit. Smith joined Wyle in 1987 and has been head of Liberty since its formation in 1992.

* Fred H. Selby has been appointed senior vice president, sales for North America for FileNet Corp. in Costa Mesa. He succeeds Larry Jordan, who has left the company. Selby joined FileNet more than three years ago as vice president, Eastern region.

* Michael Lawler Jr. has been appointed chairman of the Opera Pacific Business Partnership, established to support the opera’s commitment to educational outreach programs. Lawler is vice president of sales and marketing in the Newport Beach office of Northern Trust Bank of California.

* William E. Heaton, Jr. has been selected the 1996 president of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives, Orange County chapter. Heaton is director of advancement at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton.

* J. Scott Morrison has been appointed vice president of property management for Lincoln Residential Services Inc., Southern California region in Irvine. He was formerly regional property manager. Before joining Lincoln in 1991, Morrison was a regional vice president with Trammell Crow Residential. In addition, Lawrence A. Scott has been named vice president of business development. Scott joined the company in 1994 as director of business development. Prior to that, he was a vice president for American Real Estate Group, a subsidiary of American Savings Bank.
