Sunny Asch; Clothing Designer, Manufacturer

Sunny Asch, 90, fashion designer and clothing manufacturer. In New York, beginning in the late 1920s, she was known as Madame Asch, a designer and manufacturer of high fashion ladies gowns and costumes based on French concepts. She and her husband, Charles Asch, moved to Los Angeles in the late 1930s and founded Talk of Hollywood, a dress manufacturing company. During World War II, the company made military uniforms and later designed and made the Dutch boy carhop uniforms for Van de Kamps restaurant. In the 1940s, the company was a supplier of girls fashions for J.C. Penney. On Jan. 6 in La Canada Flintridge.
