Burning Bush

Bush, led by singer Gavin Rossdale, has been dismissed by critics as too derivative of Nirvana and Pearl Jam. But that hasn’t stopped the British rock group’s “Sixteen Stone” album, a favorite among modern-rock radio programmers, from steadily moving up the sales charts. The collection, released 13 months ago, last week completed a slow climb into the national Top 10 and this week jumps to No. 6 on The Times’ Southern California album chart and No. 5 nationally. It is joined in the Top 10 this week by another English rock band, Oasis’ “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”
