Clinton in Bosnia

Share

Re President Clinton’s trip to Bosnia, Jan. 14: How revolting! Just to save face, he should have had the good sense to at least stay home and send senior military commanders to outposts in that misbegotten fiasco. The grunts and suffering ground-pounders might have felt they were getting some real empathy from some of their own. Silly Billy isn’t one of them, period. They all know it. His grandstanding little walk around the troops shaking some hands didn’t make it.

Come spring when the sniping and military activity starts from the dedicated insane ones on all sides, the mission purposes will become very fuzzy. Even the least informed soldiers will begin to realize that they are on another lousy mission for unclear reasons, spending themselves and our nation’s wealth needlessly. The yet unanswered question will remain. Why is the U.S. leading a force in Europe’s ancient civil war, since NATO was never intended for that purpose? It is a very bad precedent.
