2 Telecom Firms Sign Deals to Boost Services: MCI Communications Corp. and a telecommunications unit of Germany’s Siemens unveiled agreements that could deliver $1 billion worth of new business to MCI over five years. The companies will jointly market their telecommunications systems under a two-year marketing agreement. They will also sell their products and services with discounts to new and existing customers. In addition, Siemens Rolm Communications Inc. customers will get less-expensive access to MCI’s high-speed data network. As part of the agreements, Siemens Rolm will provide telecommunications hardware and software, and Washington-based MCI will provide long-distance and data services over its telephone lines.
