MCI, Siemens Sign Agreements: MCI Communications Corp. and a telecommunications unit of Germany’s Siemens unveiled deals that could deliver $1 billion worth of new business to MCI over five years. The companies will jointly market their telecommunications systems under a two-year marketing agreement. They will also sell their products and services with discounts to new and existing customers. In addition, Siemens Rolm Communications Inc. customers will get less expensive access to MCI’s high-speed data network. As part of the agreements, Siemens Rolm will provide telecommunications hardware and software, while Washington-based MCI will provide long-distance and data services over its telephone lines.
