A 34-year-old Tennessee man became one of America’s wealthiest bachelors Friday when he stepped forward to claim an $89.3-million Powerball jackpot.

Kent Miller of Madison, Tenn., received a ceremonial oversized check from Kentucky Lottery Corp. officials.

Flanked by his lawyers and his two brothers, Keith and Kenneth, Miller said he had no plans yet for spending the money other than building a new home for his mother, Ocie Miller of Indianapolis.

He said he won’t return to work as a purchasing agent for the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs. His mother did go to work Friday, but he said he hoped it would be her last day.

Miller won the jackpot with a $2 quick-pick ticket he bought in Oak Grove, Ky., on the Tennessee state line. Tennessee does not have a lottery.

Miller will get more than $3 million a year for 20 years after federal and state taxes. And he said his brothers would share in the fortune. “Let’s say they’ve put in their requests,” he said.

And for the record, Miller said, he’s not interested in marriage right now.
