Zoning Issues Include Antennas, School

City zoning officials will hold public hearings on a number of applications for city permits next month, including proposed cellular telephone antennas in Sunland, a liquor permit in North Hollywood and a proposed elementary school in a Reseda neighborhood.

The hearings will be held Feb. 12 at the Sherman Oaks Woman’s Club, 4808 Kester Ave., in Sherman Oaks.

The applications include requests for:

* A conditional-use permit to allow the construction of a 45-foot-high complex of cell-phone antennas at 10400 Sunland Blvd. in Sunland. The hearing will begin at 1 p.m.

* A conditional-use permit to allow an existing preschool--the Discovery School, at 18719 Topham St. in Reseda--to convert half of its allowed enrollment of 270 children to grades kindergarten through fifth grade. A new, 2,900-square-foot classroom building would be constructed. The hearing will begin at 1:30 p.m.

* A conditional-use permit for a convenience market at 4843 Laurel Canyon Blvd. in North Hollywood to sell alcoholic beverages. The daily hours of operation would be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The hearing will begin at 2 p.m.
