5 Kidnappers Allegedly Took $9.5 Million

TOKYO —
Police arrested five people Monday who allegedly kidnapped a Tokyo family and received $9.5 million in ransom.
The kidnappers reportedly forced a 68-year-old company president to order the money withdrawn from his firm’s bank accounts on Oct. 13 and Oct. 18.
An official declined to identify the victims, who reportedly delayed informing police because they feared retaliation, but said one owns a company involved in building resorts.
