Edison, Senior

Basketball/Forward

Philman, one of the most prolific scorers in county history, had one of the best games of her career last Tuesday. She scored a season-high 35 points in the Chargers’ 67-63 victory over Fountain Valley, but it was when the points came that mattered most. She scored 24 points in the second half and had 12 of Edison’s 18 fourth-quarter points. “They played zone, they played man,” Edison Coach Dave White said. “We put her inside, we put her outside. It didn’t matter. She took over the game like she needed to.” Thursday, Philman scored 11 points in one quarter, before leaving the game, in a 51-28 victory over Huntington Beach.
