From Times Wire Reports

The U.S. Coast Guard ended its search for survivors or more bodies from the Boeing 757 carrying 189 passengers and crew that crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off the resort of Puerto Plata. Authorities lowered their count of recovered bodies from 129 to 78 after officials more closely analyzed the remains. The German ambassador, Edmund Duckwitz, said none of the bodies have been identified. Many of the passengers were German tourists. The U.S. Navy said it hopes to recover flight-data recorders from three-quarters of a mile underwater to provide clues to Tuesday’s crash.
