Teachers Granted Salary Increase
The Ojai Unified School District board has unanimously approved a new salary agreement for the current school year with teachers and school employees.
The agreement with the Ojai Federation of Teachers and the California School Employees Assn. reflects a 3% increase in salaries retroactive to last September.
Employees and teachers will receive an additional 1% salary increase at the end of August, provided the district receives additional revenues expected from the state this summer. That increase would also be retroactive to September 1995.
District employees received no raises last year, and the new agreement represents an average 2% increase for each of the past two years, Ojai schools Supt. Andrew Smidt said.
The board commended the negotiating teams for their cooperation during the monthlong bargaining process.
