Schools / Education news : Parent’s Query Spurs Equipment Donation

Share

A local manufacturer has donated $50,000 worth of used video and editing equipment to Aliso Niguel High School.

Endevco, an aerospace electronics firm that has operated in San Juan Capistrano since 1974, learned of Aliso Niguel’s need for equipment when an employee, Gale Goodall, attended an open house and spoke with her daughter’s video journalism teacher, Brian Devaney.

The teacher told parents that, because resources were scarce, students often had to make appointments to use the equipment. Goodall invited Devaney to see if surplus equipment at Endevco might help solve Aliso Niguel’s problem.

“He was extremely excited,” said Goodall, who along with her employer was cited this week by the Capistrano Unified School District for suggesting the gift to the high school.
