Company Town : Dove Audio Names New CEO

Dove Audio Inc. named Charles J. Weber as its chief operating officer starting April 1.

The company said it is in negotiations with Weber to buy his Weber Communications Inc. international consulting business.

Weber is the former president and chief executive of Lucasfilm Ltd. and president and chief operating officer of Embassy Communications.

Dove publishes books and audio books and is also involved with television and film projects.

* Pace Entertainment named John Meglen president of its new touring division.

* Todd-AO Corp. and United Artists Theater Circuit Inc. named Richard Vetter and Fredric Beiersdorf as co-presidents of their CDP Limited Liability Co., a joint venture between the two companies that is developing a system to reformat original film into compact new prints.

* Scot Safon was promoted to senior vice president of marketing for Turner Network Television.

* Jim Dauphinee has been named senior vice president of programming and development for the new CBS distribution division.

* Barry Jossen has been named to head production for DreamWorks Television.

* Doug Murphy has been promoted to vice president and general manager of the Disney Store, Japan.

* Shirley Powell has been promoted to vice president, public relations, Cartoon Network.
