The show will go on at the Renegade Repertory Company, thanks to a Los Angeles City Council action this week giving the long-established theater group a $500,000 loan to repair its earthquake-damaged performing arts center.

On Wednesday, the Los Angeles City Council gave the green light to a $500,000 loan to help the theater group renovate its new theater complex at 11136 Magnolia Blvd.

The no-interest loan will come from the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency, which has championed the North Hollywood arts district, which includes the Renegade theater.

“This will be a great boon to the area,” said David A. Cox, president of the theater company and one of the founders of the NoHo Arts District.

Cox said he expected the repairs to be completed in September or October. The complex will include one 99-seat theater and another 58-seat theater. The nonprofit company includes 90 actors, directors, writers and technicians.
