Nation IN BRIEF : PENNSYLVANIA : Wildlife Agent Lied to FBI, Charges Say

A federal wildlife agent has been indicted on charges of lying to the FBI about paramilitary training he allegedly gave to terrorists convicted of plotting to bomb New York City landmarks. Kelvin Smith, 42, of New Bloomfield, Pa., was named in a four-count indictment returned in federal court in Harrisburg, Pa., U.S. Atty. David Barasch said. Smith, who has been on leave from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is to surrender Friday, Barasch said. Four people allegedly trained by Smith were convicted of conspiracy to commit terrorist acts.
