Regency Health Services Posts $2.8-Million Profit for 1995

Regency Health Services Inc. posted a profit for 1995, compared to a loss the previous year, as revenue climbed 10%.

Regency, which operates health-care facilities, earned $2.8 million, or 17 cents a share, last year, contrasted with a net loss of $800,000, or 5 cents a share, for 1994. Revenue rose to $416.1 million from $377.3 million.

In the fourth quarter, the company lost $6.1 million, or 36 cents a share, including charges of $9.8 million related to the sale of five facilities, a write-off for the anticipated sale of 13 facilities and prepayment costs on early retirement of debt. The company earned $3.2 million, or 18 cents a share, in the same period a year earlier. Revenue was up 16% to $111.3 million from $95.8 million.
