Nation IN BRIEF : ARKANSAS : Jury Selection Opens in Conspiracy Trial

Jury selection began in Little Rock, Ark., in the fraud and conspiracy trial of President Clinton’s Whitewater partners and the man who succeeded him as governor, with Clinton himself subpoenaed to testify. Clinton’s name is not mentioned in the indictment against James B. and Susan McDougal and Arkansas Gov. Jim Guy Tucker. The McDougals and Tucker are accused of misusing nearly $3 million borrowed from a pair of federally backed lending companies.
