Madonna’s Balcony Scenes: Looks as if Madonna will do her “Evita” bit from the presidential balcony at Casa Rosada after all. Production spokesman Alex Ritchie said Friday that Argentine President Carlos Menem had been persuaded to allow the “Evita” filmmakers to use the symbolic Buenos Aires site, and that filming would take place there tonight. Playing Eva Peron, Madonna will address crowds of extras and may sing the musical’s trademark song, “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” from the balcony, Ritchie said. Menem, a member of the Peronist Party, previously slammed the $60-million film project and the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical on which it is based as “libelous.”

Jane.” White House press secretary Mike McCurry said Thursday that Clinton had been made aware of her call, and had asked for “good cooperation” from the Pentagon. McCurry said Moore now has the requested help.
