State of City Topic of Mayor’s Address

Oxnard Mayor Manuel Lopez will speak on the state of his city at the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Ventura County meeting Tuesday.

Lopez said he will touch on jobs, public safety and other topics concerning Oxnard during his talk, to be held from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Casa Sirena Marina Resort, 3605 Peninsula Road.

Tickets will cost $12 for members of the Hispanic Chamber and $15 for nonmembers.

Lopez, who recently announced his bid for reelection, said he also plans to discuss the city’s budget and his predictions for the future.

“The economy is looking a little better than last year,” Lopez said. “But we are still under the gun.”
