KCLU Gives Air Time to Civic Arts Plaza
Ventura County’s National Public Radio affiliate, KCLU, has donated $100,000 in air time to the fund-raising arm of the Civic Arts Plaza to help promote performances by nonprofit organizations.
The nonprofit station, operated by Cal Lutheran University, donated the air time to join the leading group of donors to the performing arts center and “offer KCLU’s services as the voice of the Civic Arts Plaza,” according to a press release.
The KCLU donation brings the number of donors in the Civic Arts Plaza’s Founders Circle--those who each gave more than $50,000 to the center--to a total of 85 members.
KCLU hit the airwaves in October 1994, the same month the Civic Arts Plaza held its grand opening ceremony. The station’s mission is to provide cultural, educational and informational programming to county residents, and its signal travels from Westlake Village to Santa Barbara.
