Betty Hopkins, 88, screenwriter and writer and producer for television series. Among her film scripts was the 1942 motion picture “Flight Lieutenant.” As television developed she wrote for the prestigious “Studio One” and Hallmark specials, and later for “Lassie,” “Wells Fargo” and “Verdict Is Yours.” Hopkins also spent a quarter-century as audiovisual manager for United Way. On March 22 in Murrieta, Calif.
