Re: Nicholas Riccardi’s article, “Baldwin Says He Slapped Man in Self-Defense,” March 20.
I thought journalists were supposed to report the truth and that opinion belongs on the editorial page.
Riccardi states that “Skillfully employing his emotive powers, actor Alec Baldwin testified . . . “ How does Riccardi know Baldwin was “employing emotive powers?” Is Riccardi a psychologist? Perhaps Baldwin was reacting with genuine and spontaneous emotion.
Such subjective analysis has no place in news reporting and injures one’s faith in a field already fraught with hype.
