San Diego Memo

I enjoyed Christopher Reynolds’ “San Diego’s Electric Gaslamp Quarter” (March 24), but I take exception to the “when not to go” section. Contrary to popular belief, San Diego will be open for business during the Republican National Convention, Aug. 12-15. The convention will use only 19,000 of San Diego’s 45,000-plus hotel rooms, and only Harbor Drive--the avenue that runs closest to the Convention Center--will be closed Aug. 1-17.
