World IN BRIEF : SRI LANKA : 10 Sailors Killed in Tamil Suicide Attack

Tamil rebels rammed a boat laden with explosives into a navy convoy, blowing up a navy vessel and the 10 sailors aboard, a military spokesman said. An unknown number of rebels also died in the suicide attack, and 35 were killed later when the military called in helicopters to help repulse the rebel raid on the convoy, a military spokesman in Colombo said. The fighting was the latest in a 13-year civil war that Tamil rebels have been waging for a separate homeland.
