U.S. to Sue Mitsubishi Unit for Harassment: The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America Inc. allowed discrimination against hundreds of female employees to reach all-new levels. It could become the largest sexual harassment case ever pursued under a 1964 federal law. The Peoria, Ill.-based Mitsubishi subsidiary said it had not seen the lawsuit but assumes it is based on 1994 harassment claims that the company has consistently denied. The EEOC planned to detail its lawsuit at a news conference today. Officials could not be reached. The company is being sued by about 30 women who say management took male employees to sex shows during overseas training sessions and routinely said women did not belong in factories.
