1st-Quarter Profits Double for Pollution Research

Share

Pollution Research and Control Corp., a Glendale maker of air pollution monitoring devices, reported that its first-quarter profit nearly doubled due to a favorable product-mix strategy it adopted at the beginning of the year.

In the three months ended March 31, Pollution Research earned $259,000, while its sales rose 11% to $1.63 million. A year earlier, it had $135,000 in net income on sales of $1.47 million.

The company said its strategy helped offset continuing competitive price pressures, and that it would seek cost reductions to further bolster its profits.
