Baywood’s Ash Street Homes in Brea Are Hottest Sellers

Share

A small Newport Beach builder had the hottest-selling residential project in Orange County during the first three months this year.

Baywood Development Group, with only 10 employees, sold more single-family homes in its Ash Street Cottages in Brea than any other builder sold in any one project, according to the Meyers Group, an Irvine real estate consulting firm.

The Ash Street homes, which sell from $174,400 to $194,900, are a collection of Victorian and Craftsman cottages designed for retirees and older first-time buyers.

While Baywood’s Ash Street took the top spot in the Meyers Group survey, projects by California’s largest builder, Kaufman & Broad Home Corp. in Los Angeles, took five of the next nine places.

Among Kaufman’s best-selling projects are South County’s Wagon Wheel Canyon and developments in Anaheim and in Las Flores Ranch, next to Rancho Santa Margarita. A total of 118 homes were sold in those three Kaufman projects.
