Nissan Plans Production Move: Nissan Motor Co. will move production of its Sentra and 200SX cars from Tennessee to Mexico in 1998 in an effort to cut costs, analysts said. Moving about 160,000 cars to its Mexico plant would give Nissan more room in its Smyrna, Tenn., factory to increase production of Altima cars there and possibly add a new sport-utility vehicle. Nissan said it is studying the move but has not made a decision. But two leading consulting firms said auto suppliers have told them the move is certain and have included the changes in their forecasts of worldwide industry production.
