Suggestions Sought for Marking City’s 75th

A city commission is circulating a survey to find out what the public envisions for the city’s future.

The La Habra 2000 Founder’s Day Committee has mailed 80 questionnaires to community activists, service organizations, businesses and residents seeking ideas on how to commemorate the city’s 75th anniversary in the year 2000.

The survey also seeks comments on the direction the city should take beyond the turn of the century, committee member Robert Dale said.

“The main focus is community participation, getting people involved,” Dale said.

The survey will also be used to determine what activities the public wants the city to sponsor for its 75th birthday bash. Once the survey results are tabulated, the committee will begin raising funds for the celebration, he said.

Surveys are available at the Community Center, 101 W. La Habra Blvd. Information: (310) 905-9708.
