World IN BRIEF : BRITAIN : Suspected IRA Bomb Set Off in London
From Times Wire Reports
An explosion rocked a district of western London after a warning call attributed to the Irish Republican Army, officials said. The explosion occurred at an uninhabited house in the Boltons, an expensive residential area, and there appeared to be no injuries, neighbors said. An anonymous caller telephoned a news agency in London, used a recognized code word and warned of the bomb about 12 minutes before the first report of a blast. Windows were blown out in the house and nearby buildings.
