Nation IN BRIEF : TEXAS : Monkeys Are Killed After Ebola Scare

The decision was made after a third monkey from a shipment of 100 primates from the Philippines fell ill, raising concerns it too had contracted the Ebola Reston strain, a Texas Health Department spokesman said. “The monkey and 47 others in the same quarantine room will be euthanized and incinerated . . . “ spokesman Doug McBride said. Officials said they may be forced to kill the remaining 50 monkeys from the shipment.
