Young Posse Rounds Up Impressive Catch

Share

Arrowbear Lake, a small body of water between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake, has been open to fishing only a month, but already a small group of very small regulars is making a name for itself there.

Jeff and Katie Munger, ages 8 and 2, respectively, and Ian and Devon Mullen, ages 8 and 7, call themselves the Arrowbear Posse, and have been rounding up some hefty rainbow trout: the latest a 3 1/2- and a 3-pounder.

“They fish here once or twice a week and they’re not bad,” concession manager Jim Allison says. “The 2-year-old is a little more about playing with shovel and sand, but Jeff is pretty serious about it.”
