2 Ex-Hyundai Execs File Suit: Two former marketing executives at Hyundai Precision America have sued their former employer in San Diego County Superior Court for breach of contract and racial discrimination, alleging they were mistreated because they are not Korean. Michael Gonzalez Angel and Douglas Luther, formerly sales director and sales manager at a marketing company representing the manufacturer of truck trailers and shipboard containers at a maquiladora in Tijuana, said in court filings that they were misled about their responsibilities and status when they were hired and that they were unlawfully fired after both failed “to learn to do things the Korean way.” They are seeking damages totaling $8 million. Hyundai attorney Jim Roberts said the company would defend the suit.
